Good luck choosing Kip's replacement this week. You've got some good candidates to choose from.  : )

i would think this organization would have addressed the nsp program, how the city has over spent on the renovations of these homes. just because the funds came out of our fereral taxes, we lost money -renovation cost minus sales=$700,000.00 loss of our federal taxes. it's sill our money being wasted. southfield is triying to control the migration and liz kato and mr. rayes are bringing the same

City is working on Masonic water/sewer lines and putting "bandaids" on the line.  Seems there was a erroneously marked area that got dug out.  Also have comments about an issue regarding double drives in front of houses. Left message previously  on your phone line. Please contact me.

With all of the scandals constantly in the news, I'm glad SCS has a "watchdog" group and dedicated website to adress issues and concerns of the residents.  I found this site to be very informative, and look forward to coming back to this site.  I found out about this group today when reading the Detroit News.  Keep up the good work and keep positive!  Good things will come to the city for sure.

CAM says...

Please do not say that you represent the tax payers and residents...because you do not.  You are a group who only represents...well...yourselves.  The people who represent the taxpayers and residents of this city are the people WE elected...which is the mayor and council.

I agree that government officals do need to be held accountable for questionable actions and that our taxpayer dollars need to be spent in the wisest of manners, but to be honest I don't think your group is fit to do that.  There is a difference between raising legitimate questions and looking to pick apart every move or decison made by the council.  Is arguing about who said what about a sign being allowed at a debate really necessary?  I thought I was watching my 6 year old go at it with my 4 year old after watching that on TV.

While it is certainly within your right to form this group and make you voice heard...It bothers me when you go on the council meetings acting like you are THE VOICE OF THE PEOPLE...because the fact is you are not...the mayor and council who we elected are.  I'm a big boy and I do not need a group "fighting" for me.  So plese in the future do no claim at the council meetings to represent the citizens of our city because you do not...you only represent the members of your group.

I haven't seen any council members offer to help me fight my property taxes.  STRAW has a whole page on how to do it.   There weren't any council members speaking out about the snow debacle until council chambers was filled with angry residents.  STRAW members were speaking out on that two months before it exploded.

STRAW is working for the residents and many of the council members who are suppose to are not and putting their own best interest before the people who voted them in,  Councilman Frederick sells pizza at city events and makes a profit.  How is that helping you as a taxpayer other than making Frederick a richer man.
